Blizzard Research
We can’t create the most epic entertainment experiences ever without some help. Your opinions, your feedback, and your unique perspectives on our games are invaluable. That’s why we’ve set up this program to encourage you to join us, share your thoughts, and earn some pretty cool rewards, too.
More Information
Age: Must be at least 18 years old. Unfortunately, we cannot currently accept individuals under 18 years of age, but this may change in the future.
Location: Anywhere! We often run sessions remotely, so you can still take part even if you're not near our office in Irvine, CA.
Language: Studies are currently conducted in English, but we encourage everyone to sign up as we'll be expanding available languages over time.
Experience: If you’re wondering if you’re the right person for this, the answer is simple: YES! It doesn't matter if you've been playing Blizzard games for decades or if you’ve never played a video game in your life--your feedback is important to us.
If you’re selected for a study, there are many ways that we might ask you to participate, for example:
- Playtest: Play one of our games and provide feedback by answering questions. A playtest can be done in our lab or remotely from your home.
- Survey: Fill in a digital questionnaire based on your general experiences, attitudes, or opinions. Surveys can be done remotely from your home.
- Usability Study: Perform a set of tasks in a game or interface. Usability studies can be done in our labs or remotely from your home.
- Interviews: Talk with a member of our research team about your experiences with our games or products. These interviews can be done in our labs or remotely from your home.
Sessions lengths can range from 1 hour to multiple days. Don’t worry, we'll let you know what to expect before you agree to participate.
Who Are We?
We're Blizzard's research team. We are a curious and inquisitive bunch of game lovers, and we've dedicated our career to giving an objective voice to our players from around the world. We come from a diverse background but are united in our vision to hear and learn from our players' experiences. Your honest and candid feedback is our path to identifying problems in the experience of our games. Every voice we hear is an opportunity to make the gaming experience better for everyone.
FAQ
Nope. We know that it's exciting to be part of something like this, but we're only able to keep doing it because of your discretion. If details about what you experience leak then it's a disappointment for everyone and it makes it hard for us to keep doing these studies.
You should have received details about the date and time of the test and directions on how to connect with us in the initial email. However, if anything is unclear or you have additional questions, reach out to us at playtest@blizzard.com
Sign-in to the participant page and select the study that you have been scheduled for. From there you can let us know that you can't make it. Alternatively, email us at playtest@blizzard.com and let us know. There is no penalty if you can't make it, we know that life happens. With luck we may be able to reschedule you for a different time or we'll contact you again for a new study.
We're sad to see you go, but the process is quick and painless. Sign into the research portal and follow the 'forget me' steps provided.
This is not a job and completely voluntary. We do not use your participation in these studies for recruiting or career consideration.
Unfortunately, no. If you are invited to an onsite study, you'll meet the research team and stay in our corner of the campus. If you would like to sign-up for a tour, please check here: https://www.blizzard.com/company/contact.
