Network Operations Technician

The network operations technician's responsibilities include hardware, operating system, and network troubleshooting. The network operations technician provides first-response technical assistance to our development and customer support teams.

Qualities we look for: An ideal candidate must be an extremely customer-focused, highly dependable individual with a "can do" attitude. Candidates must work well in a self-directed team environment. Candidates must have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate and present complex issues and analyses in an effective manner. Candidates must also have strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Knowledge in hardware (ability to build, diagnose, and repair computers/servers; strong troubleshooting skills)
  • Knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Familiarity with networking protocols and services such as (TCP/IP, ARP, DHCP, DNS)
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux in a networking environment
  • Knowledge of and interest in scripting and programming languages (i.e. Perl, Python, Shell, Java, C, HTML, Visual Basic, Max Scripting) is a plus
  • Familiarity with web services in both Linux (Apache, Tomcat) and Windows (IIS 5 & 6) is a big plus
