Quality Assurance Assistant Manager (Day Shift)

Blizzard Entertainment is seeking an experienced quality assurance professional with demonstrated organizational, leadership, and supervisory abilities to manage a QA team.

The QA assistant manager assists the manager in the day-to-day operation of Blizzard Entertainment’s QA department and ensures that the team is prepared to meet the testing demands created by our application and web development teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Blizzard Entertainment's executive, development, international, and QA teams.
  • Efficiently allocate available resources so that QA teams are sufficiently staffed to test multiple products simultaneously.
  • Follow the progress of each product through QA and assist QA staff with any aspect of the QA cycle as needed.
  • Mentor QA personnel to facilitate their growth within the department and company infrastructure – provide coaching, counseling, and disciplining as necessary.
  • Interview, test, hire, and train full-time and temporary QA personnel.
  • Assist in the generation and implementation of procedures for more effective and efficient testing of company products.
  • Track employee attendance and verify timesheets for accuracy.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Handle other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

  • Lead, supervisory, or managerial experience in a software QA environment
  • Ability to guide the QA staff through a full product life cycle
  • 5+ years in the game industry or software industry
  • A college degree or equivalent management experience
  • Large team management skills
  • Above-average knowledge of all standard industry software packages
  • Ability to motivate people, instill accountability, and achieve results
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Impeccable organizational and time-management skills
  • A finely-honed attention to detail
  • Absolute passion for games
Pluses:

  • C++ coding experience
  • Sarbanes-Oxley compliance experience
