eSports Coordinator

Blizzard Entertainment seeks an energetic and self-motivated person to work on our online and live tournaments. The eSports coordinator will assist in administrative tasks leading up to tournaments, including providing coverage of tournaments around the world. This person will also be involved with operations of online and live tournaments, acting as a point of contact between players and other tournament officials as well as serving as a referee or match announcer when needed.

The ideal candidate for this position is an avid online gamer with a passion for competitive gaming tournaments. This person must be very self-motivated and enthusiastic about competitive gaming and possess good communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete administrative tasks such as contacting and mailing materials to tournament competitors, prize fulfillment, and customer-service-oriented duties.
  • Participate in operations at live and online events, acting as liaison between players and tournament officials, or refereeing as needed.
  • Write match and event summaries as needed, and update Blizzard Entertainment websites with tournament-related information.
  • Provide daily and weekly reports on global eSports events, matches, and trends.

Requirements:

  • Strong written and spoken communication skills in English
  • Experience in officiating or participating in online and LAN gaming competitions
  • Knowledge of competitive gaming, pro-gaming, ladders, and tournaments
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to interface effectively with both gamers and businesspeople
  • Proven organizational and task-management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong motivation and high level of commitment
  • Willingness to work long hours and be available on call
  • Availability for occasional travel
  • Proficiency with MS Office
Pluses
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Warcraft, StarCraft, and Diablo universes
  • Fluency in any of the Scandinavian languages, French, Korean, German, or Mandarin Chinese
  • Experience with Photoshop
  • Comfort in public speaking roles
  • Experience broadcasting audio/video for competitive gaming
