Public Relations Assistant

Blizzard Entertainment seeks a focused and organized individual to fill the role of public relations assistant. This position will perform a wide range of clerical functions in support of the company's public relations team as well as assist in the execution of PR plans and programs to support Blizzard Entertainment games. In addition, the individual may be called on to implement product PR efforts for trade and mainstream media. The ideal candidate will be extremely detail-oriented, with excellent time-management skills and a passion for completing tasks thoroughly and efficiently, at a consistently high level of quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with a wide range of public relations activities
  • Maintain and update PR contact database
  • Create media lists
  • Handle daily media inquiries and requests via phone and email
  • Organize and fulfill mailing requests
  • Review incoming media for coverage, and compile all coverage for PR department
  • Organize and maintain game clip books, magazine library, video library and a general media file cabinet on a monthly basis
  • Take notes on weekly PR calls and distribute them to global PR teams
  • Follow up on action items with responsible parties to ensure projects are completed on time
  • Assist with the company's involvement in trade shows, exhibitions, and other events
  • Organize and file documents used by the entire PR department
  • Maintain organization and inventory of product supply room
  • Perform other duties and assist with special projects as assigned
  • Some travel required

Requirements:

  • At least one year of public relations experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in PR, marketing, journalism, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Excellent organization skills and written and oral communication skills required
  • Willingness to work long hours and weekends as required
  • Proficiency with Photoshop and MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint, preferred
  • Knowledge of Blizzard Entertainment games and the gaming industry a plus
  • Office-management experience a plus
