Cinematics Desktop Systems Administrator

Blizzard Entertainment is looking for a desktop systems administrator to oversee the management of artist workstations for its cinematics department. Our team uses a mix of workstation operating systems as well as a combination of commercial and proprietary software packages. The ideal candidate would have experience supporting both Windows and Mac OS X in mid-sized studio environments and also managing and deploying software across numerous desktops.

Requirements

• 3+ years of Windows and OS X system administration experience
• 3+ years of application deployment experience in CG production or a related field
• Experience installing, upgrading, and maintaining CG production applications such as Photoshop, Fusion, Maya, 3ds Max, Renderman, etc.
• Experience with large-scale operating system deployments as well as associated tools and methods
• Ability to write scripts and/or programs to streamline the deployment process
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively delegate tasks
• Excellent technical problem-solving skills
• Excellent customer support skills
• Willingness and ability to lift 70 lbs. unassisted

Pluses

• Experience in a fast-paced CG production environment
• Familiarity with Boot Camp and either Parallels or VMware Fusion
• Linux administration experience
• A passion for games and film
• Strong understanding of computer graphics concepts (animation, rendering, physical simulation)
