Director, Creative Development
Blizzard Entertainment is looking for an exceptional individual with experience managing and leveraging franchises, leading myriad, simultaneous,
and wide-ranging projects, and fostering a high-powered, diverse, and intensely creative team. This person will be responsible for leading and
managing the creative development department and its component teams - publishing, licensed products, art services, and asset services.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the vice president of creative development to provide strategic, inspirational, and visionary leadership for the department.
- Work with the senior producer to ensure efficient operations within creative development.
- Ensure good communication and relations between creative development and all clients, whether external or internal to Blizzard Entertainment.
- Keep the vice president of creative development briefed on status, challenges, and planning.
- Manage and mentor the creative development team leads.
- Plan the department's yearly budget and provide ongoing maintenance and administration of budgetary concerns for the team.
- Work with team leads to create and execute the department's personnel plans.
- Participate and contribute in discussions that involve the expansion of business for creative development and the company at large.
Requirements:
- 5+ years experience managing and developing creative franchises
- 5+ years experience managing multidisciplinary teams of 15+ people
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- A passion for games, books, comics, art, figures, etc.
Pluses:
- Experience in art creation - illustration, graphic design, etc.
- Experience in game development - computer or hobby
- Experience in writing or publishing
- Experience in asset management (art, lore, audio/visuals)
- Proficient knowledge of all of Blizzard Entertainment's intellectual properties
