2D Artist, Creative Development
Blizzard Entertainment's creative development team is looking for an exceptionally skilled 2D artist to focus on creating awe-inspiring artwork for all of Blizzard Entertainment's intellectual properties. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in creating digital illustrations in a variety of different visual styles as well as developing never-before-seen concepts for characters, creatures, and environments. The candidate should have a solid grasp of foundational art skills, color theory, human and creature anatomy, and design theory, as well as knowledge of Blizzard Entertainment's IPs. The creative development artist must have expert command of Photoshop or equivalent painting programs. The perfect candidate works well in an environment of peers who are passionate about creating awesome art, and is able to take constructive criticism well.
Duties:
- Create high-profile illustrations for Blizzard Entertainment's IPs for a variety of purposes.
- Assist with the art direction of licensed products.
- Assist development teams with art requests.
- Create concept art for Blizzard Entertainment's games in development.
Requirements:
- 2+ years experience creating digital art in a professional environment
- Strong foundational skills (anatomy, color theory, composition, etc.)
- Understanding of the visual style of Blizzard Entertainment's IPs and a passion to push them to the next level
- Experience working with an art director on a unique and cohesive visual style
- Self-motivation, good communication skills, and a great team player attitude
- Out-of-the-box thinking and creative problem solving abilities
- A passion for games and art
- Ability to work full-time in Irvine, California area
Pluses:
- Experience modeling and texturing using 3ds Max or Maya
- Sculpting experience
- Experience using traditional art mediums
