Software Engineer, Audio - Next-Gen MMO

Blizzard Entertainment is looking for a talented software engineer who has experience in audio programming to work on a next-generation massively multiplayer game. This position would work closely with Blizzard Entertainment's audio department while assisting in other areas of game technology when needed. The ideal candidate would be someone who possesses knowledge of both audio and game programming and has worked on at least one major videogame title.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of game audio coding experience on at least one shipped title
  • Strong knowledge of C++ and PC programming
  • Knowledge of audio signal processing -- mixing, sample rates, data compression, filters, reverbs, 3D positional audio, etc.
  • Experience with multi-channel audio and 3D positional audio
  • Ability to write customized audio development tools for the sound designers and composers to interface directly with the game audio engines
  • A passion for games

Plusses:

  • Mac and/or game console programming experience
  • Experience with off-the-shelf sound engines such as WWise, F-Mod, Miles, etc.
  • Music and/or sound design experience -- composing/arranging, sound design, synthesis, sampling, MIDI sequencing, audio engineering/mixing, digital audio workstations, etc.
  • Strong math skills (linear algebra, trigonometry, etc.)
