VOIP/Telecom Engineer

Blizzard Entertainment is looking for an experienced VOIP/telecom engineer to maintain and deploy our global VOIP call centers and global corporate office VOIP clusters. A successful candidate will have a strong customer service focus and an expert-level knowledge of VOIP. This person should be able to demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as to function effectively as part of a team. The candidate will also be detail-oriented with solid documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the direction of global VOIP infrastructure for all Blizzard Entertainment offices.
  • plan, design, and implement global VOIP deployments to our worldwide offices.
  • Maintain VOIP call centers and VOIP corporate phone systems in our worldwide offices.
  • Apply patches and upgrades to our global VOIP infrastructure as necessary.
  • Work with other departments (especially our customer service departments) to research needs and implement new features as needed by the business for our VOIP call centers and VOIP corporate phone system.
  • Budget and plan for future growth of VOIP infrastructure.
  • Provide VOIP training and mentoring to telecom team.
  • Research new VOIP technologies for possible use.
  • Work with network engineering team to build the best possible network for VOIP performance.
  • Implement new features as needed for VOIP call centers and VOIP corporate office system.
Requirements

  • 5+ years VOIP experience supporting corporate phone systems
  • Experience dealing with interoffice connectivity on a large scale
  • Ability to manage multiple large VOIP projects worldwide with proper communication to management, project management, and project stakeholders
  • Strong networking skills
  • Experience with Cisco VOIP hardware

Pluses

  • CCIE Cisco Certification in VOIP
  • At least one year experience supporting a VOIP call center
  • Experience in Asia and/or Europe
