Site Leader

Blizzard Entertainment currently has a temporary opening for a crisis management and safety site leader. The Blizzard Entertainment site leader will be primarily responsible for implementation and initial management of Blizzard Entertainment's Crisis Management (CM) program and Occupational Health and Safety (Safety) programs. He or she will finalize the development of the CM program and roll it out in the Irvine, California and Austin, Texas facilities. This is a temporary position that is expected to last for six to nine months.

Responsibilities

  • Further develop the CM and Safety programs based on existing plans.
  • Coordinate overall CM planning and preparedness, including recruiting/selecting team members, CM team development, drills, site information tracking, and emergency response planning.
  • Provide up to date CM and Safety information that is easily accessible and understandable for employees via the company intranet.
  • Identify and purchase all appropriate CM equipment.
  • Serve as safety contact/liaison for staff, management, and outside emergency agencies.
  • Develop and implement a training program in relation to safety and crisis management for all employees.
  • Evaluate and analyze the company's safety and health performance to minimize risk and ensure that our facilities are in OSHA compliance. Develop and implement all applicable health and safety programs.
  • Develop process for investigation of all accidents and near misses to determine root cause and any needed corrective action.
  • Track and report injury and illness statistics and activity on a quarterly basis.
  • Provide support and coaching to the staff and managers on health and safety related matters.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in safety or related field (or commensurate experience) and a minimum of five years of hands-on safety experience
  • Knowledge of US and CAL OSHA
  • Solid problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer, communication, and analytical skills
  • Experience in emergency management or crisis response
  • Managerial experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to lead effectively and maintain composure in high-pressure situations
Pluses
  • Environmental compliance experience
  • CSP (Certified Safety Professional)
  • Passion for games
