What steps do I need to follow to opt in to the drawing?
Log in to Blizzard Account Management. Under Profile Settings, click “BlizzCon 2008 Tickets.” A window will pop up containing ticket drawing rules. Read the rules, click the check box to accept the terms, and then click “Yes, I’d Like To Opt In.” The Blizzard Account Management page will reflect that you have successfully opted in to the drawing.
Does having multiple Blizzard Accounts created before 9:00 p.m. PDT on August 12, 2008 help my chances of winning tickets?
No, the selection process will screen for multiple accounts registered to the same user. Any duplicate entries will be removed from the selection pool at the time of the drawing.
Are there any fees associated with entering into this drawing?
No. Those with an eligible Blizzard Account will be able to opt in at no charge. If you are selected in the drawing and choose to purchase one or both BlizzCon tickets available to you, the ticket price remains $100 USD each.
Who is eligible to enter the drawing?
In order to be eligible for this drawing, you must (1) have an active Blizzard Account created on or before 9:00 p.m. PDT on Tuesday, August 12, 2008, when we first announced BlizzCon 2008 tickets had sold out; (2) be an adult in your country of residence; (3) have not previously purchased BlizzCon 2008 tickets; and (4) live in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Denmark, the Netherlands, or South Korea.
What is a Blizzard Account?
A Blizzard Account is an account created for the Blizzard Online Store -- as opposed to an account created for a Blizzard game, such as World of Warcraft. If you have any questions regarding Blizzard Accounts, please read our Blizzard Account FAQ.
When does the drawing begin?
The selection process will begin soon after the close of the opt-in period. The conclusion of the selection process will be announced on our websites, and winners will be contacted shortly after.
How long do I have to enter the drawing?
The opt-in period will last from Wednesday August 20, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. PDT until August 24 at 11:59 p.m. PDT. Eligible Blizzard Account holders must enter the drawing within this timeframe for a chance to purchase tickets. As this is a random drawing, those who opt in early will not have a better chance of being selected than those who opt in later.
Are these tickets going to be offered at a discounted price?
No. The tickets distributed through the drawing will cost $100 USD each.
How many people will be selected in the drawing?
1,500 Blizzard Accounts will be selected at random in the initial drawing. Each selected Blizzard Account will have the option of purchasing up to two tickets for BlizzCon 2008.
What if not everyone selected buys two tickets?
If we do not sell all of the tickets after the first round of selection, we will select more participants from the opt-in pool.
Why can’t I see the opt-in feature in Blizzard Account Management?
You will only be able to see the opt-in feature if you had created a Blizzard Account as of 9:00 p.m. PDT on Tuesday, August 12, 2008.
Why aren’t Blizzard Accounts created after 9:00 p.m. PDT on August 12, 2008 eligible?
This drawing is intended as an opportunity for people who tried to purchase Blizzard 2008 tickets through our online store on Monday, August 11 or Tuesday, August 12 but were unable to.
How will I be contacted if I’m selected in this drawing for tickets?
If you are selected, you will first receive an email with further instructions. Therefore, it is very important that your contact information (both email address and phone number) associated with the Blizzard Account is accurate and up to date. Please log in to Blizzard Account Management prior to the end of the opt-in period to ensure this information is correct.
Will these tickets still come with the same benefits as other tickets, such as the goody bag, special mount, and so on?
Yes. The tickets offered through this drawing will be no different from any of the other tickets sold.
How will I know if I have been selected through the drawing?
You will be contacted via email with more information on how to purchase tickets when the selection process is complete.
Am I eligible to purchase more tickets if I created my Blizzard Account before 9:00 PM PDT on Tuesday, August 12, 2008, but already purchased tickets to BlizzCon 2008?
No, this drawing is only available to those who created Blizzard Accounts but who were unable to purchase any BlizzCon 2008 tickets. Please note that because their Blizzard Accounts were created prior to the deadline, people who already purchased BlizzCon 2008 tickets will see the opt-in interface in Blizzard Account Management. However, these accounts will be removed from the selection pool at the time of the drawing.
